TWO MINUTE SPEECH AT BOARD MEET
It has been a novel and exciting experience for me to have been so closely involved with so many elite Rotarians in so many events.
As I wish to welcome the new
comers to the Board, let me express my deep gratitude to all those who have
completed their term. Their encouragement, their faith and their love have
touched me and have made me a better Rotarian, a better informed Rotarian and a
better human being. Thank you for your love. 
How can I say “ Thank you ” to R I President Wilf Wilkinson whose leadership has elevated Rotary to greater heights ? He has been a source of great strength to me and I owe him so much for all that he has done for me. Inspiration came from his thoughts and “Rotary Shares” has changed the vision of many – including me. I have prospered working under his benevolence and I wish to convey my gratitude once again.
My colleagues who have been with me for one year and who will continue to be with me for another year have guided me on the path to service and whose excellent co-operation have provided me with untold, inexpressible pleasure . I once again look forward to another year of co-operation.
Incoming R I President , D K Lee is a giant of a Rotarian with profound vision and invigorating ideas. I am absolutely certain that under his leadership Rotary will take another giant step towards its goals. I am looking forward to increasing my rotary involvement and improving my commitment.
I knew the stature and prestige of this office, which of course, very few get. I also knew that during the year Rotary would demand from me and my wife Nayantara total dedication and commitment.
I was fortunate enough that with the support, guidance and co-operation from each and every one, including the staff at Evanston, I could do my best, be it ever so little in promoting Rotary ideals and achieve all that I promised to this house 365 days ago in Membership Development, The Rotary Foundation, Polio Eradication programme in India, Promotion of ethics in Rotary and all the thrust areas of R I President Wilf Wilkinson.
In the end, let me recapture the glory of last year and the dream of an outstanding year ahead.
