Hindu Philosophy

Hindu religion is a religion of universal harmony & peace. Hindus look upon the whole world as one family ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ i.e. universal brotherhood. The major features of Hindu religion are its unity behind apparent diversity of views, freedom of thought, and doctrine of non-violence.

In Hindu philosophy there is respect and reverence for all religions and belief in the divinity of human race. Hindu ethics teach us

(i) Absence of anger (ii) Non stealing (iii) Self Control (iv) Forgiveness (v) Truthfulness (vi) Firmness (vii) Knowledge and (viii) Purity of Intellect and respect to all.

The Vedas are the most ancient Hindu texts that define truth, deal with global spirituality and moral values.

The Bhagwad Gita teaches us the philosophy of work, our duties & responsibilities to Serve God, to Serve the World & repay our debt to the society, through Karma -Action, Gyan – Knowledge and Bhakti – Devotion.

“Karmaneya va dhirkaraste Ma phaleshu kadachana”

It tells us to strive for excellence in work without getting attached to the fruits of the action.

Hindu religion can be summarized by the 3 Tenets

  1. By following ethics & duties, we can achieve growth & harmony

  2. Through non-violence we spread kindness & compassion.

  3. Through good action we obtain universal law of justice.

Hindu prayers are universal in content & character. Let us all pray together,

Sarve Bhavantu Sukhina, Sarve Santu Niramaya

Sarve bhadrani paschyantu, Ma Kashichid dukh bhag bhavet.

Let all people of the world live in peace, prosperity and happiness, free from illness & sufferings. May God be always kind to all and make the world a better place to live in.

Thank  you.
