YOU CAN MAKE ROTARY WORTHWHILE

18 Dec 2007

Dear Past District Governors,

Greetings, Hope this finds you all in the best of your health and good wishes.

The year is fast progressing and the month of Rotary Awareness is just ahead. The need of Rotary awareness is not only amongst Rotarians and their families but also amongst the communities. Unless the recipients are aware of Rotary and its aims, there will be no partnership in Service.

Amongst Rotarians, however, there seems to be a greater need to spread Rotary’s aims, objectives and priorities. Let us not just TEACH Rotarians everything. They need to learn. Let us TOUCH Rotarians to stimulate them, inspire them and to motivate them to walk the path of Service. Thus TOUCH will ultimately TEACH them how to walk, where to walk, when to walk and why to walk.

Rotary information should become Rotary Inspiration, which will help Rotarians discover the strength to walk the path to success.

Rotary teaches us how to be a Rotarian. I have seen the smile on the face of a crying child; I have seen a community changing in front of my eyes; I have seen great hope and aspiration on the faces of men and women; I have seen joy in the face of the unfortunates and the needy; I have seen what Rotary is striving to do today to help others; I have seen a dream of great performance by Rotary in future; I have seen tomorrow of Rotary today.

Let us all put all eggs in one basket called Rotary and make Rotary a force far greater than the force of tsunami or a tornado.

Yes! It can be done. Your efforts, your contacts, your reputation, your image, your advice and your commitment – a senior and respectable leader  that you are – can make Rotary not only well informed but well worthwhile. Try it.
