TEAM WORK

 27th December, 2007

Dear Past District Governors,

Greetings. Hope this finds you in the best of your health and good wishes.

Achievements in Rotary are not individual achievements but are the results of Team Work. As a successful and much respected leader of your District, you also must have experienced the feeling of success and you must have also understood the forces behind the success. A hockey player who scores a goal – often a very valuable goal – knows that he could score that goal because someone passed the ball to him.

As a respected leader of your District, you cam help Clubs build team spirit and help Club leaders realize the value of team work. A successful project, a successful District Conference, A successful Membership Growth Programme or a successful The Rotary Foundation Collection are the results of the sweats of many people – Rotarians and even non-Rotarians.

Please spread the message of Team Work and Team Credit to all those who lead the Clubs and Districts. True, somebody may have worked more for success and may be recognized for that “extra” effort, but ultimately Rotarians must put Rotary before Self. This will result in greater co-ordination and greater success. If you can spread this message, it will benefit Rotary and provide a more successful platform for bigger success stories.

Wish you a very Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Affectionately yours in Rotary,

ASHOK MAHAJAN

DIRECTOR – ROTARY INTERNATIONAL
