Dear Past Governors,
Greetings.
Have you not asked a question very often: “why is Vocational Service so difficult to promote? Why is Vocational Service is not stressed in all our service fields? ”
The answer may be: “Vocational Service is difficult to exemplify. It is difficult to practice”.
I believe, however that a Rotarian of your caliber , a Rotarian of your stature, and a Rotarian not only so respected in the Districts but so deeply immersed in the ideals of Rotary must be having a strong plinth on which stands Rotary in your District.
If we can mobilize all past Governors to make ethics, honesty and fair play fashionable again, it will surely propel our Rotarians closer to the ideals of honesty.
I am sure that your knowledge and experience will chalk out a line of action or many lines of action to promote Vocational Service amongst the Rotarians of your District and amongst the Clubs in the District. Let us not assume a fatalistic attitude that in today’s world, honesty and ethics are a forgotten commodity. Let us all – and your involvement is absolutely essential – propagate the need for action and prepare a blue print of our action.
If we succeed in taking us even a little bit closer to the ideal, we have succeeded in taking a first step towards our goal and rest assured that many more steps will follow if we are sincere, committed and exemplifying.
Let us do it – NOW – Let us promote the dictum – Rotary Shares the vision of a more ethical community world-wide.
Thanks
ASHOK
