OUR JOURNEY TOGETHER

Greetings.

The last nine months of this Rotary year have demonstrated some spectacular results and some rather not so spectacular results. Rotary in this part of the world has achieved enviable results. Membership growth has been rewarding. The Rotary Foundation has seen excellent response from Rotarians and non-Rotarians. A programme named “Heart-to-Heart” focusing on heart care and surgeries have benefited the really needy. Polio Eradication programme has moved full stream and the culprit P1 virus is being targeted with vigour and determination. Tuberculosis (TB) control programme has benefited those who are financially too poor to adhere to the strict regimen needed.

I have attended many Dist. Conferences, PETS Programmes, Intercity meets and other fora which have reflected the seriousness with which Rotary marches ahead with great leaders coming in to occupy positions of commitment and dedication.

During my meetings with the world leaders and as a member of the Board of Directors of R.I., I have been showered with praises, accolades and congratulatory words. I am however, the custodian of these accolades because the real recipients are the leaders of today. You are the jewels in the crown of Rotary and I am passing on the appreciation to you all – the real heroes.

We have still another 3 months to go in this Rotary year. We have now to look at things not done or things we had resolved to do earlier, but still remain incomplete. We can not rest on our laurels. We need to redouble our efforts to achieve all that Rotary deserves and desires. I humbly urge you to give a final fillip to the speed of accomplishment and achievement and ensure a year that will be historical in many respects. You are the band-master of Rotary Orchestra and you are capable of generating sweet music. Please ensure a concert of melodious achievements.

I know you can do it. I know you WILL do it.
Best Wishes,

Ashok Mahajan
