Fortify the Foundation of Rotary

Dear District Governor, 

Greetings. 

Your resumption of the coveted office must have brought in a lot of satisfaction and happiness. However, there are many responsibilities that you need to attend to, during your year in office. There are many facets of Rotary service, that will need your attention and efforts. Rotary International has rightfully placed the onus of responsibilities that will fortify into a satisfactory advancement of Rotary in your District. 

The Rotary Foundation is one of the strongest weapons to promote Peace.

Peace will not be achieved without waging a war on poverty, illiteracy, ill health, water shortage, environmental degradation and many other ills that plague the world. The role The Rotary Foundation plays in arming us with determination and commitment will surely result in a step towards Peace – no matter how small that step is. Ultimately in years to come, such steps will be converted into a massive march towards our goal. 

One of the important parameter by which a dedicated Governor is judged for his or her efficiency is the contribution raised for The Rotary Foundation. We are in a unique position today, when one of the Districts in our zone has raised the HIGHEST amount of contributions towards The Rotary Foundation – a staggering  over US$ 2 million in 2006-07. We are at No: 4, worldwide in our country’s contribution towards The Rotary Foundation. 

We must continue this trend and ensure a bigger contribution this year compared to 2006-07. This may seem difficult, but Rotarians are known to convert impossible to possible, difficult to not so difficult. Rotary depends upon you. Rotary has full faith in you. Let us not disappoint The Rotary Foundation.
